A commemorative coin was issued to mark the wedding of Prince Joachim and Miss Alexandra Manley. The commemorative coin was designed by medallist Jan Petersen and minted by the Royal Danish Mint.

It was minted in two versions: a 20-krone coin of aluminium bronze, of the same size as an ordinary 20-krone coin, and a 200-krone coin of fine silver. The 20-krone coin was minted in an edition of one million, and the 200-krone coin in an edition of 52,600.

The obverse of the coin shows the portrait of Queen Margrethe in profile as on the ordinary 20-krone coin. The reverse of the coin depicts a 3-winged palace inspired by Schackenborg, flanked by two trees. In the foreground are leaves and a fountain. On the 200-krone coin the two noughts in the figure 200 are interwoven to form a Chinese symbol of happiness.
