| Each year the Royal Danish Mint issues a set of the coins minted during the year. The coin set was issued in the autumn. |

The 2003 coin set was minted in an edition of 30,000 sets. It includes two thematic coins: the 20-krone coin with Århus City Hall Tower and the 20-krone coin with the dragon spire of the old Copenhagen Stock Exchange, as well as the 20-krone coin with the newly designed reverse.
This year's coin set also includes the 1-krone, 50-øre and 25-øre coins.
The coins are minted with two strokes. This is one stroke more than the coins in circulation. The more strokes, the more distinct the embossment.
