| The final coin in the series was issued on 20 June 2007 with the Copenhagen City Hall Tower as its mortif. A coin set comprising all ten coins in the series, was also issued - The Tower Coin Set. |

On selecting the individual towers, importance has been attached not only to displaying beautiful towers, but also towers with different functions and from different regions of Denmark
The background to the thematic coins
The purpose of issuing series of thematic coins is e.g. to stimulate interest in coins among the general public. It is a difficult task to fit the motif into the limited space available on the coin. The artist's job is to create an expressive relief that appears to be high even though there is at most 0.12 mm depth to work in.
The portrait of the Queen
The portrait on the obverse of the coin was made by the sculptor, professor Mogens Møller and is also used on the ordinary 10-krone and 20-krone coins.
The correlation between the obverse and reverse of the coin is emphasised by the use of the same font and a "ring" of the same size on both sides.
